Cohort Experiences

The LEAD Office offers several leadership cohort experiences.  We host the Active Leaders Program (takes place in the fall), the Emerging Leaders Program (takes place in the spring), and the President’s Leadership Seminar (takes place in the spring) each year. See below for more information about each program.

It is a 10-week seminar designed to provide a more advanced leadership opportunity for Mason students. Please note that past participation in the Emerging Leaders is not a prerequisite for Active Leaders. You do NOT need to have a leadership position to be a part of this program!

President’s Leadership Seminar

The President’s Leadership Seminar is an 7-8 week seminar that allows students to participate in a cohort leadership experience with the University President. Students will have exposure to classic and contemporary literature that connects directly to leadership, innovation, diversity, entrepreneurship, accessibility, ethics, global citizenship, positivity, and happiness. The cohort leadership experience is designed to be interactive and engaging for students as they reflect upon their personal leadership. Students will have an opportunity to discover something new about themselves and their leadership through critical thinking, reasoning, logic, and challenging their own thought processes and beliefs.
