Partners and Collaborators

The LEAD Office is grateful for so many amazing partners and collaborators.  We would not be able to do the work that we do without the help and support of other offices and departments on campus.  See below for a listing of offices and departments our office frequently collaborates with:

  • Disability Services
    • The Office of Disability Services assists students with disabilities in obtaining reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services. The office supports students with cognitive (e.g., learning, psychological, and closed head injury), sensory, mobility, and other physical impairments in order to provide students with equal access to university programs and services.
  • Diversity, Inclusion and Multicultural Education
    • The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education engages the Mason community in building awareness and exploration of the diversity of our campus community. With student support and advocacy as primary focal areas, the office also provides programming (including cultural heritage celebrations); services, like the Student Transition Empowerment Program; and resources, including bias incident interventions. The office pays particular attention to historically underrepresented and marginalized groups
  • Early Identification Program
    • The Early Identification Program provides access to educational resources for middle and high school students who will be the first in their families to attend a college or university. The Early Identification Program works with regional middle and high school districts to provide academic enrichment, personal and social development, civic engagement, and leadership opportunities for aspiring first-generation college students so they are better able to navigate the college preparation, application and transition processes.
  • Honors College
  • Housing and Residence Life
    • More than 6000 students, faculty and staff call George Mason University home. The Office of Housing and Residence Life provides unique living opportunities in a variety of residential settings, from traditional residence halls to Living Learning Communities centered around academic or issue-oriented topics. The office assists international students and scholars with processing key documents, provides educational cultural and social programs including the annual International Week held each April, and provides advising on a walk-in and appointment basis.
  • LGBTQ Resources
    • George Mason University has been honored among the top 100 colleges and universities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, among other awards indicating the university’s welcoming and inclusive environment. The Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning Resources serves as a hub and central resource for the Mason community for accessing Mason’s LGBTQ services and information. LGBTQ Resources offers programs, workshops and presentations as well as providing a Safe Zone within the office and training for Safe Zones throughout the university.
  • New Student and Family Programs
    • New Student and Family Programs helps incoming first-year and transfer students and their families transition into George Mason University. Transition support is vital to academic and personal success; Students and families who participate in Orientation are better able to navigate George Mason University, access available resources, and connect with other students, faculty and staff, much earlier in their Mason career.
